Back to PL and it's Sheffield United, who are no doubt blaming us and Tevez for their 8-0 thrashing against Newcastle

COME ON YOU IRONSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

I don’t think that humiliating thrashing they got will do us any favours in regards to us breaking them down….

There was a time when we had a reputation for gifting points to the teams in need at the bottom of the division, lets hope those days are behind us and we stuff them!

Sheff Utd I guess will be a team that sit back and play Moyesball themselves? Luton did similar but this being at home will provide a new challenge to recent games.

Creativity and finding a pass via Paqueta or set pieces via JWP again will be key you would think? But at the other end the concentration levels of Aguerd and to a lesser extent Zouma needed too as we have recently been undone by those little lobs over the top of our CBs.

I imagine Sheff Utd also use set pieces so got to be tight in defence generally although the 3rd goal for Liverpool was the first set piece we have let in this season iirc?

This game needs a win after City and Pool defeats.

Moyes will pick the same team as per Liverpool with perhaps the exception of Benrahma coming in on the left but Paqueta’s outstanding display their last game might mean no changes? Moyes loves to play a bloke out of his best position doesn’t he?

I still maintain we need better than Soucek, Antonio, Coufal and perhaps even Aguerd ( jury still out) long term as regular Premiership first 11 starters to really challenge at the top end but can’t foresee that happening while Moyes is at the helm.

Only motivation to Moyes might be ( wild speculation / conspiracy theory :-) ) that Kretinsky might have some influence as it was allegedly him that made sure Soucek got a new 4 year deal?

There are absolutely no excuses for not giving this pile of shit an absolute going over. I've been told there's been a reason we've played like we have so far because of the respective opposition, so I'm expecting this £500mil squad to play well and win comfortably against these relegation fodder cunts.

Does anyone think the line up will be different, it should be but will it...

I'm glad that despite us struggling last night Moyes rested all/most of the the big guns so they are fresh for this as it's a game we really must win and take advantage of if we want to push on.

Unsure if their drubbing last weekend will be a plus for us, or a minus in that respect. Their fans will be up for this, not sure if any of their players or management give a shit any more.

Soucek, Paqueta out of position + nine others. Another borefest awaits

I fail to see the point in continuing to wind yourselves up complaining about the team, tactics and Moyes etc because he doesn't come on here. Regardless of whether we play like prime Barcelona or Tony Pulils's Stoke on a Tuesday night in February, I'm looking forward to it and it has to be 3 points against which is essentially a championship side.

This is nailed-on three points with all attacking options fully activated. The manager will tell the players to go out there and express themselves, free of concern they will be judged or picked up on errors or detail. There will be a sense of trust and confidence rather than caution and control …

… but then I woke up and realised I was daydreaming.

Sheffield United are as welcome at the London Stadium as Martin Borman at a bah-mitzvah.

Anyway, I hope Soucek carries on his mini revival

Maybe he got told to sit deeper because Rice wanted to get in the box more often so he could be a Gooner this season

They are shit but they are also dangerous having taken such a beating last week.

Scrappy 1-0 win would be my guess. Set play of course.

Newcastle beat Sheff Utd 8-0 away.
Newcastle lost 3-1 away to Brighton
We beat Brighton 3-1 away.

Therefor a realistic prediction is 11-0 to West Ham.

Re: ⚽ West Ham v Sheffield Utd - Official Match Thread - Preview
I think the problem with this game will be that having lost 8-0 in their last game, Sheffield are likely to be ultra-defensive and we ain't too good at breaking teams down. We are vulnerable ourselves to being caught on the break. Think we will win but it won't be pretty and I expect a good deal of frustration at our inability to score a hatful despite having a lot of the ball.

Moaners get on your marks
